Resilient East Biloxi Annual Community Festival Returns for its Sophomore Season

The 2024 Annual REB Community Festival is right around the corner! Don’t miss out on the celebration of all things Biloxi and join in on the fun on Main Street between Division and Murray Streets on September 28, 2024 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

After witnessing the impact of the Inez Cafe mural two years ago and seeing how it energized the local community in east Biloxi, Steps Coalition and its partners - PLACE | SLR and the Water Institute - started the now annual REB Community Festival in 2023. It was a massive success last year and its looking even better for this years event!

In February of 2022, The Resilient East Biloxi team started its mission of community education. Climate change and sea level rise are rapidly evolving issues that threaten to uproot our entire way of life here on the coast. These important conversations needed to be had, and we made sure to get all of our partners involved in the fight as they started spearheading climate-focused projects of their own!

The very first Resilient East Biloxi training session was held on February 22, 2022 and set the standard for our community education program. In the classroom, we have discussed everything from access to affordable, quality healthcare and the social determinants of health, to fortified construction and sea level rise, how to effectively engage city hall, high impact grant writing, and even workforce and youth development. The training has been a great success and our partners have immediately put their new found skills to use on new programs and projects!

Consequently, we invite you to celebrate another successful year of community development with the Resilient East Biloxi Community Development Leadership Program!
